Skin Tag, Wart & Verruca Removal
At Charles Michies Pharmacy, we're delighted to offer professional cryotherapy treatments for the removal of a range of common benign skin lesions, including skin tags, warts and verrucae.
Using the advanced CryoPen® system from Cryosthetics, our trained clinicians can precisely target unwanted skin lesions with extreme cold, allowing them to naturally break down and disappear over time. Treatment is quick, minimally invasive and requires little to no downtime, making it an excellent alternative to more invasive procedures.
What Can Cryotherapy Treat?
Our cryotherapy service is suitable for a variety of common benign skin lesions, including:
- Skin tags
- Common warts
- Verrucae (plantar warts)
- Cherry angiomas (red blood spots)
- Milia
- Seborrhoeic keratoses
- Age spots (solar lentigines)
- Other suitable benign lesions following assessment
Before treatment, every patient receives a consultation to ensure the lesion is appropriate for cryotherapy. If there is any uncertainty about the diagnosis or if we feel the lesion requires further investigation, we will advise you to see your GP or an appropriate specialist before treatment.
What is Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy is a clinically proven treatment that uses extreme cold to destroy unwanted tissue.
The CryoPen® delivers a fine jet of nitrous oxide directly onto the lesion, freezing only the targeted tissue while minimising damage to the surrounding healthy skin. Over the following days and weeks, the treated area naturally heals as the unwanted tissue is shed.
Most treatments take just a few seconds, and many lesions can be treated in a single appointment, although some may require additional treatments depending on their size and type.
