Sian Caribbean Manatee is from the National Geographic Collection, highlighting some of the world's endangered animals.
This slow moving, friendly animal lives in the warm coastal waters of the Caribbean where, unfortunately, it is exposed to danger from fishing and passing boats. Hunting and injuries from ship’s propellers and fishing tackle are a result of this and have inevitably led to this species becoming seriously endangered.
